1. Safety and protection technology
We must pay attention to safety and protection during the operation of electrode arc welding. Safety and protection techniques mainly include avoiding electric shock, arc radiation, fire, explosion, and poisoning by toxic gases and smoke.
2. Avoid electric shock
In the case of electrode arc welding, there is a risk of electric shock due to the grid voltage, the output voltage of the welding machine and the voltage of the portable lamp. Therefore, take measures to avoid electric shock. Or connect to zero. Welding cables and welding tongs must be well insulated, and if damaged, repair them in time. When welding with electrodes, wear insulated shoes and welding gloves. When welding in boilers, pressure vessels, pipes, and narrow and moist trenches, insulation pads must be provided and someone should be monitored outside. When using portable lighting, the voltage does not exceed the safe voltage of 36V, and does not exceed 12V when working at heights. When working at high altitude, when working within 5m of the high-voltage line or within 2.5m of the low-voltage line, the power must be cut off, and a warning sign should be hung on the switch, and a person shall be supervised. In the unlikely event that someone gets an electric shock, cut off the power quickly and rescue them in time.
3, avoid arc radiation
The intense arc light and ultraviolet rays of the welding arc damage the eyes and skin. When welding with electrodes, it is necessary to use a mask with arc welding goggles, and wear work clothes and welding gloves. When multi-person welding operations, attention should be paid to prevent mutual influence. It is advisable to install arc protection screens or take other measures to prevent the penetration of arc radiation.
Isolated from Mars. In strong winds above level 6, open-air welding and high-altitude operations cannot be stopped without effective safety measures. Fire-fighting equipment should be available near the welding site. At the end of the welding operation, the gate should be opened, and the site should be cleared in time to completely eliminate the fire.
Four, avoid fire
Within 10m of the ignition source for welding operations, under high-altitude operations, and within the reach of welding sparks, organic dust, wood, wood chips, cotton yarn and cotton threads, straw mats, hay, petroleum, gasoline, paint, and other flammable materials should be thoroughly eliminated. If there are flammable materials that cannot be evacuated, such as wood and combustible materials for heat insulation that have not been removed, reliable safety measures should be taken, such as spraying with water, covering wet sacks, asbestos cloth, etc.
5. Avoid explosion
Within 10m of the welding operation point, no explosive materials are allowed. Welding operations are strictly prohibited in the oil depot, oil product room, acetylene station, spray booth and other rooms with explosive mixed gas. Without special measures, welding on pressure vessels and pipelines with internal pressure is prohibited. Before stopping the welding repair of the container with flammable and explosive materials, the contents should be exhausted, and replaced with water, steam or nitrogen, and cleaned: use an explosion detector and other instruments to test and analyze the concentration of the gas medium; welding operation When turning over the lid, the operator must avoid the container orifice.
6. Avoid poisoning by toxic gases and smoke
Welding electrodes will produce toxic gases and dust such as soluble fluorine, hydrogen fluoride, manganese, nitrogen oxides, etc. during arc welding, which can cause fluorine poisoning, manganese poisoning, electric welding pneumoconiosis, etc., especially alkaline electrode welding inside containers and pipelines. Therefore, it is necessary to take comprehensive ventilation, partial ventilation, small electric welding smoke exhaust unit and other ventilation and smoke exhaust measures according to the detailed situation.
